Mrs Cindy Boniface has been appointed as Taekwondo Australia's Marketing
Manager with her primary role being to promote the association through
developing links with the media and source sponsorships in the broader
market. Cindy has already been very active on all fronts and here is her
first article for the Web magazine.
It's certainly been a busy introduction to Taekwondo Australia.
Over the past months, my focus has been in three areas :
- promotion of our Olympic team;
- developing a promotional plan for Taekwondo Australia, primarily involving
a brand awareness campaign;
- developing resources for the Schools Program - 'kicking obesity'.
Olympians and Taekwondo Australia

The Team, made up of Caroline Bartasek, Carlo Massimino, Tina Morgan
and Daniel Trenton have been actively working to promote Taekwondo. Their
first official function in Melbourne in June, was a great success. Presented
by Lauren Burns and Russell Mark, the Team spoke about their aspirations
in Athens. Channel 10 took the opportunity to interview the Team and featured
them on Sports Tonight (Vic). I would like to formally thank Jeanette
Hall for her MC talent, Blitz Magazine and TKD Supplies for their donations
of items for our lucky door prize.
Following on, the Team went to visit the Royal Melbourne Children's Hospital,
where they received a warm reception from the kids at The Starlight Foundation.
Many belts were autographed thanks to the generosity of Paul and Niki
from JOLS, who supplied the belts.
There have also been other media exposure for the Team including:
- Caroline and Carlo on Sunrise at 7
- Caroline on Good Morning Australia
- Carlo in Disney Adventures
- Daniel in the Nike competition wear launch
- 110% Tony Squires
- Tina in The Age
- the whole Team in Blitz Magazine
A new Taekwondo Australia poster has been made to coincide with the
Olympics. It features the Olympic Team and some of our junior members,
with the phrase 'Taekwondo Australia - building great Australians'
This will the bases for our branding campaign and can be seen in the
August edition of Blitz magazine.
